Farmers, growers, and ute owners are being urged to take part in a “Howl of Protest” against what they see as government interference, in a series of protests around the country on Friday, July 16.
“If you are fed up with increasing Government interference in your life and business, unworkable regulations and unjustified costs then please join in!,” the organisers, a group called Groundswell, say. “Bring your tractor or ute and a couple of dogs.”
The government’s “feebate” scheme aims to reduce carbon emissions and environmental harm by giving discounts for people buying energy-efficient electric or hybrid vehicles, but imposing a fee for those buying fuel-hungry vehicles.
